About this workshop: This webinar will educate the audience on three major mechanisms underlying the biological basis of sexual orientation: a) genetic mechanisms involving the inheritance of specific genes or alleles (mutated form of genes), b) immunological mechanisms involving the production of antibodies inhibiting neuronal communication (synapses), and c) epigenetic mechanisms involving the atypical expression of genes involved in sex hormone production. Additionally, this will promote inclusivity of individuals identifying as LGBTQIA+ in the sciences and in the EMGS and will provide a forum for attendees to discuss this topic with an expert in the field.
