About this workshop: Ever wondered what makes a recommendation or nomination letter truly stand out — how to be the best advocate for yourself, your colleagues, and your students? Join us for an interactive WEMGS WOW focused on writing effective letters of recommendation and award nominations. This session will feature insights from leaders across academia, industry, and government, who will share practical strategies for crafting impactful, persuasive letters. Our panel will tackle common questions and pitfalls, and address how to recognize and avoid bias in letter writing. In addition, attendees will gain valuable guidance for navigating the award nomination process, with tools to help successfully nominate peers and celebrate the accomplishments of fellow EMGS members.
