2023 EMGS Election Results

We are pleased to announce the newest members of the EMGS Council and Executive Board. Each new member will serve a 3 year term in their respective positions.

 

Vice President-Elect
Karen M. Vasquez, PhD, The University of Texas at Austin
Position is effective immediately.
 
Councilors
Amy Michelle Whitaker, PhD, Fox Chase Cancer Center
Bennett Van Houten, PhD, Hillman Cancer Center
Jesse J. Salk, MD, PhD, University of Washington and TwinStrand Biosciences
Shan Yan, PhD, University of North Carolina at Charlotte
Catherine Gibbons, PhD, US EPA
Councilors will fill their positions at the conclusion of the EMGS business meeting in Palm Springs, CA.

Congratulations and thank you to our new leadership – we appreciate your dedication and service to our Society. We also thank all the candidates who offered their names for consideration and look forward to everyone's engagement in the Society.

Additionally, the following bylaws amendments have been approved:

Bylaws Amendment to ARTICLE II - Membership: Replace New Investigator Membership Type with Early Career Investigator and Number of Years Before Membership Upgrade.
Bylaws Amendment to ARTICLE VII - Officers: Treasurer Description.
Bylaws Amendment to ARTICLE VIII - Dues: Shorten Membership Grace Period.
