Our journal, Environmental and Molecular Mutagenesis, is pleased to announce an upcoming special issue on New Approach Methods in Genetic Toxicology (NAMs). We are currently soliciting manuscripts to be included in this issue! The objectives of this special issue are multifaceted, but can be divided into 3 main areas of focus:
Introduce the concept of NAMs with regulatory emphasis (i.e., the OECDs IATA, CEPA 1999, the EPA NAM work plan, the FDA Modernization Act 2.0, etc.)
Highlight current NAMs that are applicable to the genetox field by way of case studies and within the context of deriving health-based guidance values.
Shed light on how different industries are presently using NAMs for hazard identification and risk assessment.
